There will be a bib and t-shirt pickup for pre-registered runners only on Friday, August 14, 2009, at Providence Sports Medicine and Rehabiliation Therapy, 3801 Lake Otis, Suite #100 at a time to be determined. This is for runners who have registered online at active.com. There will be no new registations or changes at this location.
Bib pickup and last chance registration is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts. Changes may be made at this time.
As a courtesy to out-of-town runners, there will be very limited bib pickup only on race day from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. There is no registration or changes on race day.
Once registered, you may change events on Saturday, August 15, 2009, during Last Chance Registration and Bib Pickup. A minimum $20.00 event change fee will be assessed. No event changes will be allowed on the day of the race.
All entries are non-refundable and non-transferable including cancellation of events due to extreme weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Any registrant who chooses not to run in the 2009 event may consider their entry fee a donation to the Anchorage Running Club, an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non profit organization. Your donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Entry Fee Includes--Marathon/Half Marathon
Entry Fee Includes--5KAll events start and finish on Sixth Avenue in downtown Anchorage adjacent to the Performing Performing Arts Center.
Our tentative plans call for the Marathon Walk to begin at 8:00 a.m., the Run-for-Your-Life kid's fun run at 8:10 a.m., the Marathon and Marathon Relay at 9:00 a.m., the Half-Marathon at 9:10 a.m. and the 5K at 9:30 a.m.
The race course and finish chute will be held open until 3:00 p.m. -- that allows 6 hours for marathoners and 7 hours for marathon walkers.
You may read a detailed course description and view course maps on one of our other web pages.
We expect to use the Champion Chip timing system for all events except the kid's fun run. Chips will be collected in the finish area. If you fail to return the chip issued to you, you will be assessed a $35.00 fee.
Preliminary results will be available at the race and final results will be posted as quickly as possible on the Club's web site.
The marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifier race. The marathon, half-marathon and 5K are USATF certified.
Awards--Marathon/Half Marathon/5KThe Awards Ceremony will be on-site in Town Square (east side of Performing Arts Center) near the finish area. Medals and ribbons will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each five-year age group, as well as top overall race winners.
Unfortunately, we cannot allow pets to accompany participants in any of the races. You may have a stroller, but you will have to start in the back. Nordic walking polls are welcome. Big Wild Life Runs is I-Pod friendly.
Thank you for your generous support of the Anchorage Running Club, supporters of running events for women, men, and youth in our community. Please contact the Race Director with questions about this event.
